Last night I received a copy of a Press Release entitled “SURFAID INTERNATIONAL AND BILLABONG LAUNCH GLOBAL SCHOOLS PROGRAM TO ALLEVIATE POVERTY”. The Global School Program was created to educate students around the world about the geography, culture, health, economy and living conditions of the people of the Mentawai Island Region. The Mentawai Region is located off the coast of West Sumatra Indonesia and is one of the most prized surfing destinations in the world. This program marks another huge leap forward in SurfAid’s quest to alleviate the adverse conditions affecting the people of the Mentawai Island Region.
